Rack the Shot

  • Cue ball

2 diamonds off the foot rail, 2 diamonds off the right rail

  • Object ball

2 diamonds off the head rail, ½ a diamond off the right rail

  • Target pocket

    Top-right corner pocket

  • Cut angle

Straight (full ball)(0° off the pocket line)

The faint outlined ball on the diagram is the ghost ball — aim your cue ball straight at it and the object ball goes in the pocket.

The Setup

Diagonal shot from the lower half of the table up through center to the far corner. Pocket the OB at pocket speed — slow enough that even a partially blocked pocket (a chapstick on the edge) still accepts the ball.

Technique

Straight through center, soft pace. The slower you hit it, the larger the pocket plays.

What it teaches

Pocket speed and target precision — slower speeds expose any aim error.
