Rack the Shot

  • Cue ball

On the right rail, 5 diamonds from the TR corner pocket

  • Object ball

On the right rail, 1.5 diamonds from the TR corner pocket

  • Target pocket

    Top-right corner pocket

  • Cut angle

⅞-ball cut(15° off the pocket line)

The faint outlined ball on the diagram is the ghost ball — aim your cue ball straight at it and the object ball goes in the pocket.

The Setup

Jump-shot setup with the OB on the rail line near the corner. The technique works, but it tears up the cloth — only use it when there's no other option. Better to find a kick, a curve, or a different angle whenever possible.

Technique

Cue elevated 45° or more, short stroke, hit down through the cue ball just above center. Legal jump — never scoop.

What it teaches

Legal jump mechanics and when not to use them. Cloth lasts longer when you respect it.
