Rack the Shot

  • Cue ball

On the right rail, 3 diamonds from the TR corner pocket

  • Object ball

On the right rail, ½ a diamond from the TR corner pocket

  • Target pocket

    Top-right corner pocket

  • Cut angle

Half-ball cut(37° off the pocket line)

The faint outlined ball on the diagram is the ghost ball — aim your cue ball straight at it and the object ball goes in the pocket.

The Setup

Same rail-line setup as the stop shot, but apply inside (left) english. After pocketing the OB the cue ball runs up the rail to the short rail, kicks across to the far long rail, and floats back to land in the dead center of the table.

Technique

Left english (inside on a right-rail shot), medium pace. The english widens the rebound off the short rail so the cue ball comes back across and lands on the center spot.

What it teaches

Using inside english to recover position into the dead center of the table after a rail-line shot.
