Rack the Shot

  • Cue ball

3 diamonds off the head rail, 1.5 diamonds off the right rail

  • Object ball

On the right rail, ½ a diamond from the TR corner pocket

  • Target pocket

    Top-right corner pocket

  • Cut angle

Straight (full ball)(0° off the pocket line)

The faint outlined ball on the diagram is the ghost ball — aim your cue ball straight at it and the object ball goes in the pocket.

The Setup

Variation of the draw-to-center shot. Cut the OB into the corner and float the cue ball straight across the table off the opposite long rail using just a whisper of english — CB nicks the far long rail and dies right next to it.

Technique

Very little english — no more than one-eighth of a tip. Soft stun pace; the english widens the tangent line just enough to send the CB cleanly across.

What it teaches

Minimal-english finesse — when a fraction of a tip is the right answer.
