Rack the Shot

  • Cue ball

2.5 diamonds off the head rail, 1.5 diamonds off the left rail

  • Object ball

1.5 diamonds off the head rail, 1.5 diamonds off the right rail

  • Target pocket

    Top-right corner pocket

  • Cut angle

⅞-ball cut(9° off the pocket line)

The faint outlined ball on the diagram is the ghost ball — aim your cue ball straight at it and the object ball goes in the pocket.

The Setup

Three rails back to the center of the table with high-left english. Use this shot to dial in how much cue deflection (squirt) you get on your stick.

Technique

High left english, firm-medium pace. The combination of follow plus side spin and pace together cause deflection — aim slightly to compensate.

What it teaches

Cue deflection awareness and how high+side english combine across multiple rails.
